GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro City Council is set to tackle a variety of issues during its regular meeting Monday evening, including public hearings on stormwater management, proclamations recognizing important observances, and consideration of investment advisory services.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
The evening will open with an invocation by Archbishop Anthony Slater, Fire Chaplain, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and adoption of the agenda.
Several proclamations and presentations are slated during the meeting’s recognition portion. Council members are expected to issue proclamations recognizing Gun Violence Awareness Month, Juneteenth, and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Council will also receive mid-year presentations from the Recreation Advisory Commission and the Commission on Community Relations and Development, providing updates on ongoing programs and initiatives.
Two public hearings are scheduled, both focusing on environmental management and development regulations. The first hearing concerns establishing the City of Goldsboro Stormwater Management Plan, while the second addresses the creation of Article 6.7 regarding erosion and sediment control within the city’s Unified Development Ordinance.
The consent agenda includes consideration of amendments to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) special revenue fund ordinance, approval of minutes from the May 4 council meeting, a sole source procurement justification for MUSCO, and departmental monthly reports.
Under new business, council members are expected to consider a resolution awarding a contract for investment advisory services to Valley View Consulting, LLC.
Residents will also have an opportunity to address council members during the public comment period.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall.
