Rosewood secured the title with a thrilling 3-2 victory in Game 3, capping off a memorable season filled with resilience, determination, and teamwork.
The championship series did not start in the Eagles’ favor. Rosewood suffered a 4-0 loss in Game 1 on Wednesday, forcing the team into a must-win situation heading into Game 2 against Cherryville.
Game 2 proved to be a nail-biter from start to finish. After falling behind 5-0 early, the Eagles mounted an impressive comeback to edge Cherryville 6-5 and force a decisive third game.
Rosewood saw contributions throughout the lineup during the comeback win, with seven different players recording at least one hit. Jack Adams went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, while Jacob Bond finished 2-for-3 with a run, a double, and an RBI.
The Eagles’ victory improved their record to 24-6 and set the stage for a winner-take-all Game 3 in the championship series.
In the final game, Rosewood once again showed its grit, holding on for a dramatic 3-2 victory to bring home the state title.
Earlier in the postseason, Head Coach Corey King reflected on what had already been a memorable season for the Eagles, praising the team’s resilience and chemistry throughout the year. Now, another unforgettable chapter has been added to Rosewood baseball history.
Congratulations to Coach King, Coach Heath Whitfield, and the entire Rosewood Eagles baseball team on bringing home the 2026 NCHSAA 2A State Championship.
