GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man is facing multiple felony charges after a shooting investigation led to his arrest Friday evening.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers responded to UNC Health Wayne on May 15, 2026, at approximately 6:32 p.m. after a man arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.
Investigators with the department’s Investigative Services Bureau responded to begin an investigation into the incident. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified 32-year-old Jordan Jontel Jones of Goldsboro as the suspect.
Police said warrants were obtained for Jones, who was later taken into custody without incident in the 2000 block of Day Circle.
Jones appeared before a Wayne County magistrate and was issued no bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
He is charged with:
- Attempted First Degree Murder
- Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm
- Carrying a Concealed Gun
- Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits
