GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro City Council will meet Monday evening with a packed agenda that includes public hearings on the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 budget, funding matters related to PFAS treatment projects, and several community event requests.
The regular meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Council Chambers at Goldsboro City Hall.
Among the evening’s highlights is a public hearing on the proposed FY2026-27 annual operating budget. Council members are also expected to continue budget discussions during the old business portion of the meeting.
Several recognitions and proclamations are planned, including honors for Employee and Supervisor of the Quarter recipients, a proclamation recognizing The Malpass Brothers, and a proclamation honoring Jerry Johnson. Council will also recognize Dillard Goldsboro Alumni & Friends and National Public Works Week, while a retirement resolution will be presented for James Wells.
On the consent agenda, council members are expected to consider acceptance of funding for the city’s PFAS Treatment Project from the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure, along with multiple budget amendments involving fire, parks and recreation, community relations, police, and grant project funds.
Council will also consider a resolution approving the city’s 2025 Annual Local Water Supply Plan and a contract for audit services with Forvis Mazars, LLP for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
Under new business, council members are expected to review requests related to the 2026 Jeep Show & Shine Special Olympics Torch Run street closure, a temporary closure request for the Harris Street Bridge, and a proposal for a Goldsboro Veterans Stand Down event.
