WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to an early morning structure fire Saturday at Lynn’s Mobile Home and Trailer Park on C.G. Lane off Casey Sawmill Road.
According to officials on the scene, firefighters from the Arrington Fire Department, Dudley Fire Department, and Mar-Mac Fire Department were dispatched around 4:30 a.m. to the reported blaze.
When crews arrived, they found a single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly worked to bring the bulk of the fire under control and prevent it from spreading.
Officials said one adult and one child were inside the home at the time of the fire, but both were able to escape safely.
EMS personnel and Wayne County Emergency Services responded to assist at the scene, along with deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Fire officials said the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Crews remained on the scene for approximately three hours conducting overhaul operations and ensuring the fire was completely extinguished. Later Saturday morning, firefighters were called back to the same location after a rekindle was reported.
