May 8, 2026, 74, Goldsboro – Ronda Shirley Hinnant, 74, of Goldsboro, departed this walk of life Friday, May 8, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service.
Ms. Hinnant was born in Wayne County on August 13, 1951, to the late Garland Hinnant and Edna Newsome Hinnant. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. She retired from her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Leaving to cherish her memories are two daughters, Jada Shanks of Goldsboro and Jasmine Shanks of Goldsboro; one brother, Bobby Harrell Hinnant and wife, Alice of Goldsboro; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Brown of South Carolina and Jackie Batts and husband, Lynwood of Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hinnant was preceded in death by her brother, James Matthew Hinnant and two sisters, Annette Marie Best and Laura Ann Artis.
