GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro Daily News has announced the winner of its Mother’s Day “The Motherload Giveaway,” a promotion designed to honor the love, sacrifice, and dedication of mothers throughout the community.
Curtis Hayes was selected as the contest winner after submitting a heartfelt entry describing why the special mom in his life deserved the nearly $1,000 prize package.
In his winning submission, Hayes wrote:
“She deserves this Mother’s Day package not just for her titles—mom, bonus mom, and Gigi—but for the love and care she shows every day. A massage offers her true rest, the garden gift card reflects the beauty she creates, the watch honors her time, and the rug represents the home she’s built. It’s a heartfelt way to give back to someone who gives so much.”
The “Motherload Giveaway” featured prizes from several local businesses, including a 60-minute massage from Orchid Bliss, a $50 gift card from Casey Garden Center, an area rug valued up to $300 from Southland Flooring, and a ladies Glock watch from Alan Sutton Jewelry.
The total prize package carried an estimated value of $980.
Organizers say the response to the promotion was overwhelming, with many heartfelt stories submitted recognizing the important role mothers and mother figures play in families and communities.
The giveaway was part of a special Mother’s Day celebration through Goldsboro Daily News, along with 98.3 WGBR, 97.7 Katie Country, and 92.7 Jamz aimed at spotlighting local families while supporting area businesses.
