GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A section of Elm Street in Goldsboro is closed as crews address a sewer main issue affecting the area.
City officials say the closure stretches from Audubon Avenue to Oleander Avenue. A bypass pump has been installed to maintain sewer service and prevent any potential overflow while repairs are being planned.
The roadway will remain closed until the issue is fully repaired. At this time, there is no set start date for construction, as the City of Goldsboro is currently in the process of seeking bids for the repair project.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes and use caution when traveling near the affected area.
City officials have not provided a timeline for when the road will reopen but say updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
