April 25, 2026, 16, Goldsboro – Paul Christopher Casey, 16, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Born on August 24, 2009, Paul was the beloved son of John and Kerry Casey. A junior at Wayne School of Technical Arts, Paul was a young man of quiet depth, strong character, and a personality that could light up those closest to him. He was known for his mischievous spirit and quick wit, often bringing laughter and a sense of playfulness to those he loved.
From a very young age, Paul found his greatest joy in the outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or simply taking in the beauty of nature. These moments were especially meaningful when shared with his father, with whom he shared a close bond and many common interests. At just three years old, Paul was introduced to beekeeping by his father, a passion that grew with him over the years and reflected his patience, curiosity, and deep appreciation for the natural world. He also found quiet happiness in watching birds and wildlife from the dining room table, content in the simple beauty around him.
As a young boy, Paul’s imagination was filled with dragons, dinosaurs, and animals of all kinds—interests that spoke to both his curiosity and sense of wonder. That same depth of feeling carried into his love for music, where he found expression through playing the violin. Whether outdoors or immersed in music, Paul embraced the world in a way that was uniquely his own. He also enjoyed snow skiing, flying kites, and metal detecting, always eager for his next adventure.
Paul was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Goldsboro, where he was actively involved in the youth group and faithfully served his church community. He participated in the ramp ministry, helping to build handicap-accessible ramps for those in need, quietly making a difference in the lives of others. He also worked behind the scenes assisting with sound during church services, offering his time and talents with a humble spirit.
He had a heart for adventure and cherished traveling and experiencing the world alongside his parents and his Uncle Lee. Paul especially enjoyed scuba diving with his father and had recently developed an interest in flying planes. At home, he found comfort and companionship with his beloved dogs, Skipper and Purdy, especially following the loss of his first dog, Snoopy. Like his mother, Paul appreciated quiet moments with a good book and found peace in reading, as well as walking along the beach.
Paul is survived by his loving parents, John and Kerry Casey; his paternal grandparents, Roger and Johnnie Casey; his maternal grandparents, John and Susan Harder; his aunts and uncles, Mary and Jonathan Shaffer, Cyle and Lee Moore, John Harder, Jr., Holly Dalton (Len Rosol), Scott and Leisel Harder, and Matthew Harder and fiancée, Katie Frerichs; and his cousins, Jewel Shaffer, Taylor Shaffer, David Dalton, Kayley Dalton, Gillian Harder, and Lucas Harder. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Goldsboro with Pastor Adam Street and Pastor Vernon Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
