April 21, 2026, 92, Wilmington – Arnold Haywood Daniels, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday evening, April 21, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice in Wilmington.
Mr. Daniels was born in Wayne County to the late Riley B. Daniels and Pearly Best Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Anderson Daniels; and their daughters, Donna Daniels and Janet Daniels; his beloved wife Ruth Honeycutt Daniels, his brother, Foy “Shorty” Daniels; and his sister, Evelyn Daniels Jones.
He is survived by his son, Michael A. Daniels and wife, Lynn; his daughter, Renee Galioto and husband, Patrick; his brother, Roy Daniels; and his cherished grandchildren, Morgan Rundquist, Taylor Daniels and Jordan Galioto. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Asher Sherman, Marley Rundquist and Owen Rundquist.
Mr. Daniels proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a faithful member of Longleaf Baptist Church in Wilmington, where he served as a deacon and was active in many areas of church life. Following retirement from the army, he owned and operated Arrington Used Cars in Dudley. Arnold will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a man of strong faith, and one who found joy in simple moments spent with family and friends. His legacy of kindness, service, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, 2873 Highway 117 Dudley, NC. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
