April 18, 2026, 91, Dudley – Robert Glenn Bridgers, 91, went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, April 18th, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Woodard Bridgers; his father, Alkie Bridgers; his brothers, Linwood Bridgers, Jesse Bridgers, Wayne Bridgers, and Melvin Bridgers; and his sister, Pauline Hall.
He is survived by his son, Robert A. Bridgers Sr. and wife, Becky; his daughter, Angie Hinson and husband, David; his sisters, Polly Kirkman, Joann Medlin, and Carol Worrell; his grandchildren, Brandi Talton, Robert Bridgers Jr., Hunter Hinson, and Jacob Hinson; and his great-grandchildren, Haylee Talton, Jared Talton, Sawyer Bridgers, Karson Bridgers, Trenton Hinson, and Elora Hinson. He is also survived by his special friend, Carol Herring.
Robert was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He operated the Phillips 66 service station at Hwy 70 and Hwy 111 for over 25 years. He was a devoted member of Slick Rock Hunting Club and Sleepy Creek Hunting Club, where he spent many cherished hours enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and fellowship with friends.
Robert will be remembered for his love of family, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
A private military graveside service for the family will follow at the Eastern Carolina Veterans cemetery in Goldsboro, N.C.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 26th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, at the home of Robert G. Bridgers.
