Linda Fields Lancaster

Linda Fields Lancaster

December 9, 2025, 77, Pikeville — Linda Fields Lancaster, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born in Lenoir County on March 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Ivey and Alma Marie Sutton Fields.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Chris Maxon Lancaster; her precious great-granddaughter, Ava Caroline Stevens; and siblings, Nancy Laura Davis, Johnnie Ivey Fields, Jr., Jimmy Fields, and Billy Fields.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Christy Lancaster Hales and husband, Mike; granddaughters, Hannah Kirkpatrick, Chrislyn Belcher (Cullen), and Weslea Kirkpatrick (John); grandson, Brandon Hales; great-grandchildren, Addison Evans and John Blaine Moye; and several special nieces and nephews, including Jeff Davis.

Linda was a devoted grandmother. She found some of her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life—most of all in the laughter of her grandchildren and the peaceful hours she spent tending to her yard.

Her grandchildren were her pride and delight, and she never missed an opportunity to encourage their dreams, celebrate their milestones, or wrap them in a warm embrace.

At home, Linda’s yard was her sanctuary. Whether planting new flowers in the spring or nurturing the familiar blooms that returned each year, she created beauty with her own hands.

A private graveside service was held for the family at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Gurley-Lancaster Family Cemetery at the home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
