Lorene Hollowell Grice, 84, of Kenly went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will immediately follow at Fellowship Community Methodist Church Cemetery, 5755 Rains Crossroads Road, Princeton, NC 27569.

Lorene was born in Johnston County on May 2, 1941 to the late Armond Gable and Verlie Wiggs Hollowell.  

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Grice of Kenly and Evelyn “Vi” Phillips and husband, Robert of Pikeville; her sisters, Judy Taylor of Pikeville and Nellie Burgress of Pikeville; her grandson, James “Jim” Hanus and wife, Marie of Pikeville; her great-grandson, Nathan; her brother-in-law, Melvin Grice of Kenly and her special family and caretakers, Gail Williamson, Abby Shores, Rhonda Penzer.  The family would also like to extend a special thank you to 3HC Hospice, Sara, Catherine and Aaron for all their loving guidance taking care of our precious mom.

In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Grice; her sisters, Cornelia Edwards and Ophelia Howell and her brothers, Willie Hollowell and Wilbert Hollowell.
