Genevia “June” Junivee Parton Singleton

December 4, 2025, 88, Fremont

Genevia “June” Junivee Parton Singleton was born in Greene County, Tennessee on June 26, 1937, to the late Walter Lee and Lockie May Gosnell Parton. June was a pastor’s wife by choice, faithfully supporting her husband in ministry. She read her Bible daily and was a devoted member of Fremont Free Will Baptist Church. As long as her health permitted, she loved attending Sunday School.

June was known for her talent in crocheting and for her generous spirit—she loved gifting her handmade pot holders and other creations to others. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially their trips to the mountains of Tennessee. A true homemaker, June took joy in home canning while her husband tended the gardening. Among her greatest joys were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and the time she spent visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Heber “Dick” Singleton; her sons, Dr. Warren E. Singleton, M.D. and wife, Heather, of Charlotte, and Ronnie Darnell and wife, Connie of Greenville, Tennessee; her daughter, Tammy Darnell of Greenville, Tennessee; and her sisters, Dollie Fortner of St. Petersburg, Florida, Alyne Cutshaw of Greenville, Tennessee, and Judy Wrenn of Greenville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Grace and Ayden Singleton, along with several dear friends and her church family who will deeply miss her.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Svette, and her brothers, Howard Parton, Edward Parton, and J.C. Parton.

Homegoing services will be held Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Fremont Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
