MOUNT OLIVE — The Town of Mount Olive has canceled its annual tree lighting ceremony due to anticipated inclement weather this week. The event, which had been scheduled for Friday, December 5, will not be held this year.
Despite the cancellation, the holiday spirit will still shine throughout the community as the Mount Olive Christmas Parade moves forward as planned on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and will be held rain or shine.
Organizers encourage the public to come out and enjoy the joy and warmth of the season while supporting local participants and holiday performers.
Parade Route:
- Start: Carver Elementary School
- Old Seven Springs Road
- Church Street
- College Street
- Both sides of Center Street
- End: James Street
To ensure the route remains clear and safe for parade units and spectators, no parking will be allowed along the parade route. The only exception is a Reserved Handicapped Parking Area located on Center Street between James Street and College Street in the Wells Fargo block.
Residents are encouraged to bundle up, arrive early, and help celebrate the season together in downtown Mount Olive this Saturday.
