Reverend Paul Wayne Goff also known as “Bud”, a devoted servant of God and beloved spiritual leader, passed away on November 30, 2025 in Goldsboro, NC on his 75th birthday. Born on November 30, 1950 in Wilson County, Reverend Goff dedicated his life to ministry and the proclamation of the Gospel.
Wayne accepted the call to preach in 1969. Over the next five decades, he faithfully ministered across North Carolina, Virginia and even extended his outreach into Canada. His passion for sharing the word was evident in every sermon he delivered and every soul he reached.
From 1995 to 2007, Reverend Goff served as pastor of Faison Bible Holiness Church. He later continued his ministry through evangelism before pastoring Black Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church from 2016 to 2018. He received his licensure with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. In 2024, he became pastor of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was honored with receiving his ordination through the IPHC.
In addition to his pastoral and evangelist work, Reverend Goff was a familiar face on local television as host of “Good News” on WHFL-TV for 18 years. Through this platform, he brought messages of Hope and Salvation into countless homes. He also served for many years as President of Lighthouse Pentecostal Ministries, where he mentored aspiring ministers and helped them obtain their preaching license.
Throughout his remarkable 56-year journey in ministry, Reverend Goff touch innumerable lives with his unwavering faith and commitment to spreading the gospel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Jones Goff; daughter, Donna Goff Luper; son, Michael Goff; sister, Pearl Smith; granddaughters, Kimberly Barnett (Joey), Stephanie Luper, Breanna Sasser and Brittany Goff; grandson, Michael Paul Goff; five great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh, Christian, Elijah, Ariah and Katanaj and stepdaughters, Katherine Tevepaugh and Kimberly Tevepaugh.
In addition to his parents, Paul and Eva Goff, Wayne was preceded in death by his sisters, Rachel Brann, Frances Ferrell and Faye Sauls; one brother, Howard Goff and a son-in-law, David Luper.
Reverend Paul Wayne Goff’s legacy will live on through the many lives he inspired and the generations of believers he helped guide in faith. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to shine as a beacon of light in the hearts of all who were blessed by his friendship and ministry.
Homegoing service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
