It was wintertime in the beautiful settlement of Lenoir County when, on Wednesday, January 18, 1950, a baby boy was born to William and Mildred Moye Kornegay. They named him Ervin.

Ervin E. Moye, 75, of Robinson Place, answered the Master’s clarion call on Saturday at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

The Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Johnson officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 12 Noon in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

He leaves loving and precious memories to his wife, Koretta Kennon Moye, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4 PM – 6 PM in the Rev. Ernie Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Memorial Services. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the service.
