Raleigh, NC – Board-Certified prosecutor Jeff Cannon officially filed to run for District Attorney in District 9 covering Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne County. A long standing eastern North Carolina resident, Jeff has spent nearly 15 years as a prosecutor standing up for victims and keeping communities safe. He is one of fewer than 4% of North Carolina attorneys certified as a Board Specialist in State Criminal Law, a distinction earned through extensive trial experience and proven expertise.

Known for being tough on violent crime while treating everyone with fairness and respect, Jeff personally meets with victims and ensures their voices are heard. He has earned the trust of law enforcement, victims’ families, and colleagues across the district.

Outside the courtroom, Jeff coaches youth sports, mentors Mock Trial teams, and is active in his church. He lives in Lenoir County with his wife Jessi, son Jennings, and dog Buckley.
