GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Multiple fire departments responded this morning to a working structure fire near the intersection of Genoa Road and Woods Street, where heavy smoke was visible rising above the treetops before crews arrived.
Firefighters from Dudley, Arrington, and Mar-Mac Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, crews discovered the fire burning behind a residence at 1242 Genoa Road. As additional units reached the area, the blaze had already spread to several nearby structures, prompting a coordinated, multi-angle attack.
Firefighters deployed several hose lines from different directions, allowing crews to bring the fire under control quickly and prevent further spread. Officials confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire officials on scene.
