The first round of the high school football playoffs is in the books, and three local teams are moving on to round two after impressive victories Friday night.
The Rosewood Eagles defeated American Legion Academy–Johnston by a score of 52–26, while the Princeton Bulldogs rolled past Beddingfield, 54–18. The Eastern Wayne Warriors also advanced with a 21–14 win over Anson County.
The C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons saw their season come to an end after falling to West Carteret, 35–21.
Next up, Rosewood will travel to Warrenton to take on the Warren County Eagles. Princeton heads to Elizabeth City to face the Pasquotank County Panthers, and Eastern Wayne will be on the road to Asheboro to challenge the Southwestern Randolph Cougars.
Kickoff for all second-round games is set for Friday night.
