Linda Anne Broughton Sexton, 69, of Smithfield passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was born in Wayne County, Michigan on May 9, 1956 to the late Albert Floyd Broughton and Sara Bargo Broughton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wayne Sexton; son, Erik Wayne Blackman; and brothers, Kenneth Broughton and Larry Broughton.
She is survived by a son, John William Blackman of Four Oaks; daughter, Kelly Anne Higgins (fiancé Ian) of Smithfield; brothers, Tommy Broughton (Marie) of Pikeville, Christopher Broughton of Laurinburg, Albert Broughton (Cora) of Kentucky, Michael Broughton (Angela) of Smithfield; sisters, Carol Durkin of Virginia, Faye Harper (Kenny) of Princeton; grandchildren, Erik Higgins, Connor Higgins, Justin Lucas, Jayden Blackman, and Maverick Blackman.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations.
The funeral will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home & Cremations on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 pm with the Reverend Steve Singleton officiating. The burial will follow immediately after funeral at Princeton Cemetery.
