Wayne County Libraries Announce October Programming for All Ages

Early Learning and Literary Events Scheduled Across Multiple Branches

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Wayne County Public Library system has announced several community programs taking place on October 28, offering educational and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.

Early Explorers Program Supports Kindergarten Readiness

The Goldsboro branch will host its Early Explorers program on Tuesday, October 28, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. This kindergarten-readiness initiative is designed for children ages 3-5 and requires attendance with a parent or caregiver.

The program focuses on essential pre-kindergarten skills, guiding young learners through social development while building foundational knowledge in letter, number, shape, and color recognition. No registration is required for families wishing to attend.

The session will take place at Wayne County Public Library – Goldsboro, located at 1001 E Ash Street.

Book Club Explores Inspirational Fiction

Later that afternoon, the New Dawn Inspirational Book Club will convene at 3:00 p.m. at the same Goldsboro location. This month’s discussion will center on “The Love Note” by Joanna Davidson Politano, a work of inspirational fiction.

Teen STEAM Program Investigates the Science of Fear

The Steele Memorial Library in Mt. Olive will host a Teen STEAM program from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., offering hands-on science experiments for young people. October’s theme explores the scientific principles behind fear, providing an age-appropriate look at the biology and psychology of this universal emotion.

The Steele Memorial Library is located at 119 W Main St. in Mt. Olive.
