GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A pedestrian died Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle on US 70 East near Spence Avenue, according to local authorities.
Incident Details
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:51 p.m. on October 25, 2025, following reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, investigators determined that a vehicle traveling westbound on US 70 East struck the pedestrian. The victim was immediately transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities have confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
