Chamber President Reflects on Nearly 130 Years of Service to Wayne County

Todd Walker Shares Vision for Supporting Local Business Community

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. – Todd Walker, President and CEO of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, is expressing his enthusiasm for the organization’s mission as it approaches its 130th year of service to the community.

“Our staff’s entire focus is to serve over 130,000 people who call Wayne County home,” Walker said, reflecting on what makes his role at the Chamber meaningful.

A Legacy of Business Support

For nearly 130 years, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has maintained its commitment to the local business community through a three-pronged approach: engaging with businesses where they are, equipping them to reach their full potential, and elevating their voice throughout Wayne County and across the state.

Demonstrating Value Through Action

The Chamber demonstrates its commitment to members through various initiatives and services. Recent highlights include the Better Business Summit, which featured the founders of Shibumi Sunshades as keynote presenters.

Beyond events, the organization provides crucial advocacy services for its members. “We are blessed to have a group of local elected officials who are more than willing to sit down, listen, and work on our members’ behalf,” Walker noted.

Looking Ahead: Community Celebrations and Partnerships

The Chamber continues to expand its collaborative efforts with the community. Among upcoming initiatives is the 2026 Fourth of July celebration, which will be held at the Wayne County Regional Agriculture Fairgrounds.

The organization also focuses on connecting businesses to the broader community through social media visibility and partnerships with the county’s nonprofit sector.

Open Invitation to Local Businesses

For businesses not yet affiliated with the Chamber, Walker extends a personal invitation. “If you aren’t a member, I’d love to introduce you to the greatest friend a business could ever have,” he said. “We’re glad you’re here.”

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce continues to serve as a central resource for local businesses seeking support, networking opportunities, and advocacy in the region.
