Wayne Community College Aviation Students Earn Federal Airframe Certificates

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Eleven students in Wayne Community College’s Aviation Systems Technology program have reached a significant milestone in their journey to becoming certified aircraft mechanics, earning Airframe Certificates of Completion that qualify them to take Federal Aviation Administration exams.

The certificates authorize the students to sit for the FAA general and airframe mechanic written examinations, marking a crucial step in the certification process required for professional aircraft maintenance careers.

After passing the written exams, students become eligible to take oral and practical examinations. Upon successful completion of all testing requirements, they receive temporary Airframe Mechanic certificates, allowing them to work in the field while awaiting their permanent credentials.
