David Randolph Brown Sr., 82, of Goldsboro departed this walk of life Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park North in Goldsboro. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born in Wayne County on January 18, 1943 to the late Warren Wiley and Retha D. Pearson Brown and deceased by his adopted dad, Walter B. Brown. He was a member of Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. Mr. Brown was a retired truck driver for Estes Trucking where he spent much of his time on the road. His journeys not only allowed him to travel extensively but also provide opportunities to connect with family and friends along the way. A proud member of the Dillard Class of 1961, he cherishes the memories made during class reunions, where old friendships are rekindled and stories are shared.
Cherishing his memories are his two sons, David Brown Jr. (Barbara) of Mebane and Marcus Brown (Tanya) of McLeansville; one daughter, Valerie Redd (Gary) of Eden; two brothers, Prentice Brown of Flushing, New York and Charles Brown (Tasha) of Goldsboro; one sister, Shirley Jones (James) of Wilson; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Moses Brown of 47 years and one sister, Ozzie Lewis.
