Local Initiative Seeks Volunteers to Bring Christmas to Nearly 400 Wayne County Children

Community Effort Aims to Ensure No Child Goes Without Holiday Joy

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Nearly 400 children in Wayne County face the possibility of spending Christmas without gifts this year, but a dedicated community organization is working to change that. Kriquette’s Christmas Kidz, along with its volunteer network known as the Kriquette’s Krew, has launched an urgent call for volunteers to help make the holidays memorable for local families in need.

The organization is hosting a major distribution event on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at three locations throughout the county. The initiative represents a significant community effort to ensure that every child experiences the magic and joy of the Christmas season.

Multiple Ways to Get Involved

Kriquette’s Christmas Kidz is recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles to support the event. Shoppers will partner with parents and guardians to help them select gifts using a minimum allocation of $350 in gift cards per family at local retailers. Registration team members will welcome families and manage check-in, while receipt collectors will process purchases as shoppers return.

Additional support is needed from a logistics crew to manage setup, distribute toys, load vehicles, and handle cleanup operations. The organization is also seeking parking attendants to direct families and bilingual volunteers to assist with communication and ensure all families feel welcome.

Event Details and Locations

The event will take place from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT at three Bridge locations:

  • The Bridge Princeton, 188 Whitley Church Rd, Princeton
  • The Bridge Goldsboro, 1065 N. Berkeley Blvd, Goldsboro
  • The Bridge Mount Olive, 230 O’Berry Road, Dudley

Most volunteer positions require arrival at 2:00 PM, with parking attendants also needed to help manage the flow of families throughout the afternoon.

A Meaningful Experience for Volunteers

Organizers emphasize that volunteering with Kriquette’s Christmas Kidz offers more than an opportunity to help others. According to the organization, the experience provides personal fulfillment and a meaningful reminder of what the holiday season represents—community, compassion, and celebration.
