Milestone Event Returns to Downtown Smithfield on November 1
SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The Junior Women’s League of Smithfield (JWL) is set to host its 10th Annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Smithfield. The milestone celebration promises to be the organization’s largest event to date.
The family-friendly event offers children and families throughout Johnston County a hands-on opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, construction machinery, tractors, farm equipment, and service trucks. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the first responders, service workers, and community members who operate these impressive vehicles.
What to Expect
This year’s Touch-A-Truck features an expanded lineup of activities designed to engage visitors of all ages. The event will showcase a diverse collection of vehicles, from emergency response equipment to construction machinery and delivery trucks.
The Little Wheelers Playland returns with bounce houses, interactive games, face painting, and special guests. Families can purchase a $5 all-access pass for unlimited access to this dedicated children’s area. For train enthusiasts, rides will be available for $2 each.
The Fueling Station Food Court will feature a variety of local food trucks, offering refreshments throughout the day. Children attending the event can look forward to swag bags, games, and surprises.
Free Admission with Optional Add-Ons
Admission to Touch-A-Truck is free and open to the public. Optional $5 all-access passes for the Little Wheelers Playland and $2 train ride tickets will be available for purchase, with both cash and credit cards accepted.
Community Impact
Proceeds from the annual Touch-A-Truck event support JWL’s community initiatives throughout Johnston County. These programs include the Johnston County Blessing Boxes, scholarships for women, and Community Impact Grants awarded to local nonprofits serving women and children.
Since 2016, the Junior Women’s League of Smithfield has invested more than $195,000 back into Johnston County and contributed over 17,500 hours of community service.
