Christopher Mike Benson, 75, of Clayton passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.  He was born on June 19, 1950 in Johnston County to the late Alton Earl Benson and Dorothy Mae Jones Benson.  

Mike was a man of few words who lived his life to the fullest.  He was a husband to Helen, a father to Chris, Shane, and Crystal, and a Pa to Blake, Morgan, Garrett, Carson and Dalton.  Mike loved to hunt and fish as much as he could.  He was a hard-working man.  He was a brick mason for 41 years until he retired in 2012.  He touched the lives of anyone he knew and was greatly loved by everyone.  He will be truly missed by friends, family and loved one. 

Christopher is survived by his wife, Helen Irene Johnson Benson; sons, Chris Benson (Jennifer) and Shane Benson (Jody); brother, Mark Benson (Wanda); sister, Pam Driver; grandchildren, Blake Benson, Morgan Benson, Garrett Benson, Carson Balance and Dalton Pate.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations.

The Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home & Cremations.
