Free public event features S.H.A.R.P. Leadership Framework presentation
GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne Community College will welcome Tim Whitman, founder of Pro 27 Leadership and author of Welcome to Purpose, for a special leadership event later this month.
The “Lead with a Purpose” presentation will take place Thursday, October 23, at 7 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium, located inside the Wayne Learning Center on WCC’s main campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Whitman’s message centers on helping individuals discover and pursue their life’s purpose. “Everyone is created on purpose and for a purpose,” he said. “Too often, we spend our lives knowing what we believe without slowing down long enough to truly understand it. We let the world lead us by its compass until we’re exhausted, pouring ourselves out for expectations that leave us empty.”
During the evening presentation, Whitman will introduce attendees to the S.H.A.R.P. Leadership Framework, which stands for Secure, Honest, Authentic, Resilient, and Purpose-driven. The framework guides participants through building a strong personal foundation, embracing honesty, leading authentically, maintaining resilience through challenges, and living with clear purpose.
“Attendees will leave equipped to lead themselves and others with greater clarity, confidence, and intentionality,” Whitman said.
The event is sponsored by WCC’s Business Administration/Operations Management program, which offers a two-semester Leadership Certificate featuring Whitman’s book as part of its curriculum.
“The Lead with a Purpose event encapsulates our Leadership Certificate, empowering people to take control over their lives, find positive direction, and strengthen their character for a life filled with influence and purpose,” said Michelle Gay, Business Administration/Operations Management instructor at WCC.
The Wayne Learning Center is WCC’s main building, identifiable by the flag poles at its entrance.
