WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — The Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair continued its celebration of youth livestock excellence on Sunday, September 28, with local competitors earning top honors in beef cattle competitions.
Beef Heifer Show Highlights
In the Beef Heifer Show, Eli Price claimed the Grand Champion title, while Ruby Ann Pipkin secured Reserve Grand Champion honors. Pipkin demonstrated her versatility by also winning the Junior Showmanship division for ages 8-11.
The complete Beef Heifer Showmanship results include:
- Novice (Ages 5-7): Mack Russell Byars
- Junior (Ages 8-11): Ruby Ann Pipkin
- Intermediate (Ages 12-14): Brooklyn Sauls
- Senior (Ages 15-18): Abigail Blankenship
Beef Steer Competition
The Beef Steer Show featured strong competition in the showmanship categories. Ruby Ann Pipkin again earned recognition, winning the Junior Showmanship division, while her fellow competitor Jackson Pipkin took first place in the Intermediate division.
Beef Steer Showmanship winners were:
- Novice (Ages 5-7): Olivia Cassell
- Junior (Ages 8-11): Ruby Ann Pipkin
- Intermediate (Ages 12-14): Jackson Pipkin
The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion for the Beef Steer Show, along with the Senior Showmanship winner, were not announced at press time.
