September 10, 2025, 70, Goldsboro —

Floyd Dexter Howell age 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at UNC Wayne Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Dexter was the son of Floyd Howell and the late Betty Williams Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Jacobs Howell of the home, his sister Beth Howell Spainhour of Goldsboro, sons Jon Howell, Christopher Howell, Mattew Howell (Sarah) and David Howell and daughter Haylee Howell Midla (Joshua), stepson Chris Radford (Sharon), brother-in-law Tim Jones, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Howell Jones and a daughter.

A memorial service will be held at Spring Hill OFWB Church at 2127 US Hwy 70 W, Goldsboro on Sunday September 14, 2025. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00pm and service will follow at 3:00 pm. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to visit at the home.
