Frances Thomas Hinson, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, while being cared for at Sutton’s Retirement Home. Frances was born in Wayne County to the late William Henry Thomas and Ella Hinnant Thomas on March 29, 1936. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Cooper Hinson.

Fulfilling her entire banking career with Wachovia Bank, Frances built strong relationships with the staff and customers, ensuring that all needs were met and customer service remained top-notch. Known for her great love of shopping, Frances looked forward to every opportunity to browse the aisles of her favorite store, Belk. Always on the hunt for the next best outfit or bargain, she preferred a day of shopping over just about anything.

With her signature sass, Frances was always dressed to perfection with a vibrant personality to match. Her hair was never out of place, and her quick wit was always evident.

The family held a private committal service on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at New Hope Friends Cemetery.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Donna Rouse and husband, Joey; grandchildren, Jessica Weisiger and husband, James, Joely Barnett and husband, Hunter, and Jenna Goodacre and husband, Rob; and great-grandchildren, Payton Grant, Riley-Cooper Grant, Ayden Weisiger, Alli Weisiger, Rowan Goodacre, and Nolan Goodacre.
