September 2, 2025, 73, Goldsboro —
Terry Warren Featherston, 73, entered into the loving arms of her Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by the comfort of her family. Born in Wake County on July 30, 1952, to the late Avener S. Warren and Lessie Sutton Warren, Terry lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. In addition to her parents, she was welcomed into heaven by her cherished in-laws, James and LaRue Featherston.
For 31 years, Terry devoted her career to teaching with Wayne County Public Schools, where she touched countless young lives with her kindness, patience, and gentle encouragement. A woman of steadfast faith, she was a dedicated member of The Lord’s Table in Goldsboro, where her love for the Lord shone through her words, actions, and unwavering spirit.
Family was at the very heart of Terry’s life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and above all, a proud and adoring “Gram” to her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. Her legacy will be remembered in the lessons she taught, the faith she lived, and the unconditional love she poured into her family.
Terry is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard J. Featherston, Sr.; her son, Richard J. Featherston, Jr. and wife, Rhea; her daughter, Amanda F. McKenna and husband, Michael; her treasured grandchildren, Kylie Isabella McKenna and Parker Conner McKenna; and her brother, Sherrill Howard Warren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
