GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne Community College has earned significant recognition in Niche’s latest rankings, placing second among North Carolina’s community colleges and 13th nationally in the platform’s 2026 Best Community Colleges lists.
The rankings, released by the online education platform that connects students and families with educational institutions, highlight WCC’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

Wayne Community College secured its second-place position among competitive North Carolina institutions. Randolph Community College claimed the top spot in the state, while Stanly Community College, Nash Community College, and Western Piedmont Community College rounded out the top five at third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.
