ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is embarking on a comprehensive modernization effort to replace its aging computer systems, announcing a formal request for proposals that could transform how the state delivers motor vehicle services to millions of residents.
The NCDMV issued Request for Proposals No. 54-12188921-CM seeking contractors to overhaul legacy mainframe technology that has served as the backbone of the state’s motor vehicle operations for years. The initiative represents a significant step toward modernizing infrastructure that handles everything from driver’s license renewals to vehicle registrations across the state.
