18-Year-Old Arrested in Goldsboro Shooting, Charged with Attempted Murder

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro teenager has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting that left a 32-year-old man hospitalized.

Initial Response

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on Day Circle at approximately 12:27 p.m. on August 4, 2025. Upon arrival, police located the victim, later identified as Stephon Walls of Goldsboro, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency Medical Services transported Walls to UNC Health Wayne before he was airlifted to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment. His current condition remains unknown.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit immediately responded to the scene to begin a criminal investigation.

Arrest Made

Following a day-long investigation, police secured a warrant for D’Markus Montrell Seaberry on August 5, 2025. The 18-year-old Goldsboro resident was arrested on Seymour Drive by members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Selective Enforcement Unit, and VICE.

During the arrest, Seaberry was found in possession of a stolen firearm, leading to additional charges.

Charges Filed

Seaberry faces multiple charges in connection with the incident:

  • Attempted First Degree Murder
  • Possession of Stolen Firearm
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Seaberry was served with his outstanding warrants and is being held at the Wayne County Jail without bond.
