Man Shot in Goldsboro Under Investigation for Attempted Murder

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating an attempted murder after a 32-year-old man was shot on Day Circle Monday afternoon.

Incident Details

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:27 p.m. on August 4, 2025. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound at the Day Circle location.

Emergency Medical Services quickly transported the injured man to UNC Health Wayne before he was airlifted to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment. The victim’s current condition remains unknown.

Victim Identification

Police have identified the victim as Stephon Walls, a 32-year-old Goldsboro resident.

Investigation Underway

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit have launched a criminal investigation into the shooting. Both units responded to the scene to begin processing evidence and gathering information about the incident.
