15-Year-Old Shot in Goldsboro, Police Launch Investigation

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 15-year-old male was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being shot in what police are investigating as a criminal incident in the Lincoln Circle area.

Police Response

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a Shotspotter alert on Lincoln Circle at approximately 2:48 p.m. on August 4, 2025. The technology, which detects and locates gunfire acoustically, directed police to the area where they subsequently discovered the teenage victim on nearby Olivia Lane.

Victim Condition

The juvenile, identified as a 15-year-old male from Goldsboro, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to UNC Health Wayne for medical treatment. His current condition remains unknown at this time.

Investigation Underway

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit have been notified and have responded to the scene to initiate a comprehensive criminal investigation into the shooting.

Ongoing Case

No additional details about potential suspects, motives, or circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released as the investigation remains active. Police have not indicated whether any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
