Randolph Dennis “Randy” Nelson, Jr., 83, of Autryville, NC passed away at his home in Sampson County on July 28, 2025.  He was born July 8, 1942 in Washington, DC to the late Jewel Curtis Rowland and Madeleine Halstead Rowland.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Lorraine Blackmer Nelson.

He was a man of great action, showing us through that, the definition of true and unconditional love.

He was the pillar of our family and now reunites with the heart of it, his wife, Denise Nelson, in heaven.  A true love story indeed.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his sons, Jason Nelson and wife, Victoria, and Joshua Nelson and wife, Rebekah; daughter, Cara Nelson; sister-in-law, Diana and Willis Odom; grandchildren, Spencer, Parker, Nathanael, Grace, Carter, Hope, Noah, and Conner; special nieces and nephew, Heather and Christopher Kaleher and Jennifer Jernigan.

A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
