Edward Earl Jones, 76, of Goldsboro went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, July 28, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Homegoing service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Pastor Ricky Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Pikeville Cemetery.
Earl was born in Wayne County on January 10, 1949 to the late Alton and Dorothy Smith Jones. He was a faithful member of Fremont Holiness Church where he served as past Deacon. Earl was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Firestone in Wilson after 36 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed eating with his friends at B&G Grill in Goldsboro and Hardee’s in Pikeville.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Sarah “Sadie” M. Jones; four daughters, Tracy (Ronnie) Vernon of Pikeville, Michelle (Eddie) Lancaster of Pikeville, Paula (Steve) Kramer of Wilmington and Jennifer Jones of Pikeville; one brother, Bobby Jones of Pikeville; sister-in-law, Laura Jones of Pikeville; seven grandchildren, Preston (Karen) Vernon, Hannah (Reece) Bartlett, Hope (Joshua) Holmes, Dustin (Jessica) Strickland, Katie Joyner, Austin (Amanda) Whitman and Noah Whitman; eleven great-grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Bella and Biscuit.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Jones and his grandson, Zakery Vernon.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
