GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A man who allegedly pointed a firearm at a Goldsboro police officer during a traffic stop last week has surrendered to authorities and faces multiple serious charges, including assault with a firearm on law enforcement.
Tyler Jalik Davis turned himself in to the Goldsboro Police Department on July 28, 2025, nearly a week after the initial incident that occurred during a routine traffic stop.
Initial Traffic Stop Escalates to Armed Confrontation
The incident began on July 22, 2025, at approximately 3:34 p.m., when a Goldsboro Police Department officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and registration violations. The vehicle subsequently fled the scene, prompting a pursuit by law enforcement as detailed in a previous police report (OCA 20250004089)
Investigation Reveals No Shots Fired at Officer
