Man Shot in Goldsboro, Transported to Hospital in Stable Condition

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 34-year-old man was shot Thursday afternoon in Goldsboro and remains hospitalized in stable condition following the incident.

Incident Details

Goldsboro Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert near Day Circle at approximately 12:41 p.m. on July 10, 2025. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jarvis Godwin, 34, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medical Response and Treatment

Godwin was initially transported to the Emergency Department at UNC Health Wayne before being transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for additional treatment. Hospital officials report he is currently in stable condition.

Ongoing Investigation

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit have responded to the scene and are actively investigating the shooting incident. No arrests have been announced at this time.
