MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — The Exchange Club of Mount Olive, in partnership with local businesses, hosted their annual Fourth of July celebration at Westbrook Park on Friday, drawing community members for an evening of patriotic festivities.
Early Arrival, Strong Turnout
Residents began gathering at the park early Friday afternoon in anticipation of the holiday celebration. The official event ran from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., providing families with a concentrated window of Independence Day entertainment.
Entertainment and Activities
The celebration featured live music throughout the evening, offering attendees musical entertainment as they enjoyed the festivities. Multiple activities were available for families, including face painting and rides on the popular “pickle train.”
Free Food and Refreshments
Organizers provided complimentary refreshments for all attendees, including hot dogs, watermelon, and pizza. The free food offerings helped create an accessible community event for families across Mount Olive.

Event organizers distributed special “pickle packs” to recognize notable attendees, including:
- The person who traveled from the farthest state
- Anyone celebrating a birthday on July 4th
- The youngest person in attendance
- The oldest person in attendance
