GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A shooting late Tuesday night on Norwood Avenue has resulted in one fatality and two arrests, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 10:26 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting on Norwood Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Jeffrey Allen, 58, of Goldsboro, was transported to UNC Health Wayne, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit launched an investigation at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Suspects Charged with Murder
On Wednesday, June 18, as a result of investigative efforts, detectives secured arrest warrants for two individuals in connection with the shooting: Mark Anthony Gant, 34, and Pamela Denise Owens, 50, both of Goldsboro.
Gant, already in custody at the Wayne County Jail on unrelated charges, was served with warrants charging him with:
- One open count of murder
- One count of discharging a firearm into occupied property causing serious injury
Owens was located and arrested by members of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Selective Enforcement Unit. She was served with the same charges and confined to the Wayne County Jail under no bond, along with Gant.
Police indicated that additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
