George Alan Aycock, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 3rd at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Elton Orson Aycock and Mildred Scott Aycock. He was preceded in death just short of two months ago by his wife, Carolyn McLawhorn Aycock. He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Elton “Pinky” Aycock and Douglas Aycock.

George retired from Waukesha Electric, formerly known as Hevi-Duty Electric, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Providence Church and the Mill Creek Masonic Lodge #125. He was a former member of the Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department.

A service to celebrate the life of George Aycock will be held by the graveside on Wednesday, June 11th at 3:00pm at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. David Pate officiating. The family will remain at the cemetery to greet friends immediately following the service.

George is survived by his daughter, Melynda Snead and her fiancee’, Mike and daughter, Tammy Aycock; a brother, Thomas “Gene” Aycock and wife, Sherry; a sister, Beverly A. Ricks and husband, Phil; his grandchildren, Jennifer Warrick Davis, Megan Snead, and Blaine Snead and wife, Debra; and his great grandchildren, Jensen Davis, Kasen Snead and Hayden Roberts.
