Goldsboro, N.C. — United Way of Wayne County has announced the launch of its 2025 Summer Resource Page, a new online hub designed to connect youth and families across Wayne County with a variety of summer programs and services.
The resource page was created in response to a Community Conversation held on March 31st, where more than 70 community leaders, including Mayor Gaylor and representatives from the City of Goldsboro, gathered to identify gaps and needs facing local youth and families. A key takeaway was the community’s need for better communication and easier access to existing summer opportunities.
The Summer Resource Page features information on:
- Summer camps
- Enrichment programs
- Youth meal sites
- Teen employment and volunteer opportunities
- Free or low-cost family events
- Mental health and support services
- Educational and tutoring programs
Sherry Archibald, Executive Director of United Way of Wayne County, emphasized the importance of the resource: “Families want to keep children safe, active, and engaged during the summer—but many don’t know what’s available. This page is a direct response to that call for action.”
The initiative aligns with United Way’s focus on building a financially stable community where families feel safe and engaged. The Summer Resource Page is now live and accessible at www.unitedwayne.org/summerresources.
Local organizations, churches, and agencies offering youth programs are encouraged to submit their events and services for inclusion by emailing [email protected].
United Way urges the community to share the resource widely to ensure every child and teen in Wayne County has access to a safe and enriching summer experience.
