May 28, 2025, 77, Goldsboro —
It is with a broken heart, but deep gratitude for the love she gave us, that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Patricia Hinnant. She left this world on May 28, 2025 surrounded by those who loved her most, and though our hearts ache with her absence; we find comfort in knowing that she is now in Heaven, held in God’s arms and finally at peace.
Patricia was born, September 19, 1947 in Johnston County to the late, Ransom Phillips and Annie Bell Parnell Phillips.
Patricia was the beloved wife of William Hinnant, the love of her life. From the very beginning of her final breath, he stood by her side with unwavering devotion, caring for her with strength, tenderness and love that never faltered. Their bond was a shining example of true, lifelong partnership; a love story that will remain with us always.
To her daughter, Tammy, she was more than a mother; she was a best-friend, a trusted confidant and the one person who truly understood her. Her presence brought comfort and her words were always filled with encouragement and love.
To her sons, Logan, Scotty and Joey, she was deeply cherished. They looked to her for advice, for comfort and for steady, unconditional love, only a mother can give. Her strength, her wisdom and her unwavering support helped shape their lives and her influence will forever guide them.
Patricia’s heart belonged to her family. She found joy in the little things; quiet moments, shared meals, warm conversations, and being there whenever she was needed. She had a gentle way of making others feel loved, safe and at home.
In keeping with Patricia’s wishes there will be no funeral or visitation (wake). Patricia will be cremated and we are honoring her life in a quiet, private way, letting her go in peace and with dignity.
Though we now walk with grief, we are comforted by faith and the knowledge that she is resting in Heaven. Her love lives on in us and we will carry her in our hearts always.
