Opportunity Opens to Serve Rocky Mount: NCDMV Seeking New LPA Operator

Rocky Mount, N.C. – The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) is currently accepting applications for a new contractor to operate the license plate agency (LPA) in Rocky Mount. The opportunity arises as the current contract for the location at 1850 Stone Rose Drive is set to expire on Nov. 14.

The Rocky Mount LPA has been operated by Vicki Bridgers under Rocky Mount, LPA, LLC since 2016. In accordance with NCDMV policy, applications are opened whenever an LPA contract expires or there is a need for new or additional agencies within a region.

In North Carolina, LPAs are managed by private businesses or local governments under commission from the NCDMV. While the division oversees operations, contractors are responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency.

The application window is now open, and interested parties must submit completed forms to the NCDMV no later than May 30. Required forms—MVR-93A, MVR-93B, or MVR-93M—are available on the Connect NCDOT website. All applications must be submitted via email to [email protected]; mailed submissions will not be accepted. Questions may be directed to the NCDMV at 919-615-8521.

Currently, 128 license plate agencies are operating across North Carolina. These agencies offer a range of services including:

  • Vehicle registration and title transactions
  • License plate renewals
  • Replacement tags
  • Duplicate registrations

The NCDMV reminds residents that many common services—such as registration renewals and property tax payments—can be completed online by visiting MyNCDMV.gov.

For entrepreneurs or organizations looking to serve the public and play a vital role in their local transportation infrastructure, this LPA opportunity offers a chance to step into a long-standing community service role.
