Goldsboro, N.C. — In a powerful display of mentorship, leadership, and community investment, the Goldsboro (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated inducted seven young men into its distinguished Kappa League program on Saturday, May 10. The induction ceremony marked a significant milestone not only for the young inductees but also for the chapter’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment in Wayne County and surrounding communities.

The event was held in a dignified and uplifting setting, where family members, fraternity brothers, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the achievements and future potential of the new inductees. The highlight of the ceremony was a keynote address delivered by Damian L. Tucker, Esq., who currently serves as the Senior Vice Polemarch of the Middle Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi. Tucker’s message focused on the values of perseverance, integrity, and purpose, encouraging the young men to seize the opportunities presented to them through the Kappa League.

A Legacy of Leadership and Mentorship

Founded as a national youth initiative by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the Kappa League is a structured mentorship program aimed at supporting African-American and minority male students in grades 6 through 12. Its mission is to guide young men through their formative years by fostering leadership development, academic excellence, community service, and career exploration. Participants engage in workshops, college tours, public speaking opportunities, and community outreach—all while building lasting bonds with mentors and peers.

The program is more than just a leadership academy—it’s a transformative experience that instills confidence, discipline, and a commitment to excellence.

“We believe in the power of mentorship to change lives,” said a representative from the Goldsboro Alumni Chapter. “Kappa League provides our youth with critical tools, support, and exposure that many do not otherwise receive. These young men are stepping into a brotherhood of excellence that stretches far beyond the classroom.”
